Three days. Your Raising Cane’s receipt prints “(Expires in 3 days)” directly under the survey code. After that the code stops working and no amount of retyping brings it back.
The official sweepstakes rules, oddly, set no expiry period at all. The receipt does. That gap is worth understanding.
The exact wording
What the receipt actually says
“(Expires in 3 days)” — printed on the line below the code, in brackets, on every receipt that carries a survey invitation.
The block above it reads “Hey Caniac! Tell us about your visit & enter our monthly drawing for a chance to win FREE CANE’S For A Year!” followed by the web address and the code.
So the expiry is not a rumour and it is not something a guide site worked out. It is printed on the paper in your hand.
Why guides disagree
Is it 48 hours or 72 hours?
Neither phrase appears in any official source. Both are guesses that got copied from one survey site to the next until they looked like facts.
Here is the honest position. Two official sources exist and they do not say the same thing.

When two sources differ, follow the stricter one. Treat three days as the deadline and you are never caught out.
Counting the days
When does the three days start?
On the transaction date at the top of the receipt, not the day you found it again in a jacket pocket.
Day one is the day you ate. A Friday lunch receipt is finished by Monday, weekend included.
There is no grace period and the time of day does not extend anything.

Photograph the bottom of the receipt
Do it in the car park while the print is still sharp. Thermal ink fades fast in a warm car.
Take the survey the same evening
It runs about five minutes. Leaving it for the weekend is how most entries die.
Keep the photo private
Each code works once. Anyone who sees it can burn your entry before you get to it.
Already too late
What if my code has already expired?
Do not sit there retyping it. An expired code returns an error no matter how carefully you enter the digits.
The rules carry a postal entry that needs no receipt, no code and has no three day clock attached to a purchase.
You hand print your details on a 3 inch by 5 inch card and post it to the sweepstakes administrator. It lands in the same monthly drawing.
